    On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, His Excellency the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, met with a number of investors and entrepreneurs during his visit to the Eastern Province. His Excellency was received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Rizaiza. During the meeting, His Excellency reviewed the great opportunities available for investment in the tourism sector. His Excellency pointed out that the Eastern Province is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom, and represents a unique model in the field of tourism due to its geographical diversity and the beaches of the Arabian Gulf in all its governorates, in addition to the historical and heritage dimension of the region, noting that the Ministry is keen to strengthen its partnership with the private sector as the main driver of the tourism sector. His Excellency the Minister Al-Khateeb explained that encouraging investments and providing facilities to investors is one of the most prominent files carried out by the Ministry, noting that the investment enablers program in the tourism sector; It is one of the initiatives aimed at encouraging investors to invest their capital in the sector, as it works to reduce the cost of government fees in the hospitality sector by 22%, noting that the decision to stop municipal fees on hospitality facilities is an additional step towards encouraging investments in tourism projects.

     

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Rizaiza, said that the Eastern Province is considered one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom, and is rich in many activities, destinations and experiences that vary between cultural, heritage and beach tourism paths, and pointed to the ideal places that characterize the region and what it provides in terms of marine destinations and ideal family parks, and natural elements that help establish various activities.

    Al-Rizaiza explained that the Eastern Province has a unique cultural heritage, as it embraces the Al-Ahsa Oasis, which is considered the largest palm oasis in the world, and includes historical sites such as Ibrahim Palace, and the Al-Ahsa Museum, which tells the history and culture of the region, in addition to popular markets such as: Al-Qaisariya Market, which displays handicrafts and local products.

     

    The region also includes many open wilderness areas, whether in Al-Nuairyah or the Saman Desert, and others, which reflect the culture of the region and the diversity of its tourist destinations, in addition to enjoying an economic legacy represented by the industrial cities of Jubail 1 and 2 and Ras Al-Khair, which are distinguished by providing the most important mining and marine industries in the world.

     

    Al-Rizaiza added that tourism in the Eastern Province is a major driver of development, stressing that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and its capabilities and programs have greatly helped in making it an ideal destination for travelers and its effects have extended to society and the economic and environmental sectors, as tourism contributes to increasing revenues through visitors' spending on accommodation, restaurants and shopping, and providing direct and indirect job opportunities in areas such as: hospitality, transportation, services, and improving infrastructure. Al-Raziza explained that the meeting of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism reviewed many of the shared ambitions between the Ministry and the business sector and was characterized by high positivity that will directly reflect on the Eastern Province and contribute to raising the quality of life in the region.

    The Eastern Province has a number of projects within the Tourism Development Fund portfolio, as 17 projects have been approved with a total value exceeding 12.7 billion riyals, which will contribute to providing more than 2,200 hotel rooms in the region. The number of projects approved by the Fund has reached 10 projects with a value exceeding 10.6 billion riyals, which will add more than 1,400 hotel rooms.

    The data also revealed the tourism figures in the Eastern Province that the total number of local and expatriate tourists who visited the region during the past year 2023 AD exceeded 19 million tourists, while the total tourist spending amounted to 27.8 billion riyals, an increase of 27%.​

    Asharqia Chamber organized today, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, a meeting of the Indian trade delegation, remotely, with the participation of a number of investors and entrepreneurs, and in the presence of the Second Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, and the head of the Indian delegation, Deputy Head of the Indian Mission in the Kingdom, Mr. Abu Maten George. The Second Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Al-Khalidi, stressed during the meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabil, that the Kingdom and India are linked by strong historical relations and joint cooperation that brings the two countries together at all levels. The depth of this relationship is evident in the fact that India is one of the most important main trading partners of the Kingdom; as the volume of trade between the two countries in 2023 AD amounted to about 156 billion riyals, and India comes as the third main destination for our exports after China and Japan. Al-Khalidi said that we, as a business sector, look forward to building on these distinguished relations between the two parties to establish ambitious and fruitful partnerships between the private sector in both countries and to create more new opportunities for the growth and prosperity of the economy and business, adding that trade relations between the two countries are developing and growing rapidly in various fields, and are awaiting broader horizons of cooperation in light of the government measures and incentives and diversification targets that have made our national economy more open and interested in all sectors. It is noteworthy that the meeting comes within the continuous efforts of the Asharqia Chamber to enhance the economic and development work of the business sector and work as a platform to enhance communication opportunities, putting all its capabilities, whether in this regard, to seek to push the wheel of bilateral trade exchange between the Kingdom and India to new horizons that keep pace with the aspirations of the leadership in the two countries.     Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Social Responsibility Center, concluded the 2024 Handicrafts and Crafts Exhibition on Sunday evening, September 29, 2024, with the Saudi Ardah and authentic heritage arts, which witnessed a large turnout of Saudi, Gulf, Arab and foreign visitors interested in the Kingdom's diverse cultural heritage, at the Dhahran Expo. The exhibition received its visitors over 5 days, with 30 working hours from 4 pm to 10 pm, where it witnessed the visit of 35 thousand visitors, who came to learn about the most prominent local products that represent the heritage of the Eastern Region and the most prominent textiles that reflect the comprehensive national identity.

    The Chairman of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Rizaiza, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, for his patronage and honoring of the exhibition, stressing that the sponsorship represents great support for the Chamber's events and activities, and contributes to the Chamber's continuation in organizing events that benefit the business sector and support small projects for craftsmen.     Al-Rizaiza explained: The exhibition witnessed the participation of more than 300 exhibitors from craftsmen and handicrafts owners, government and private agencies, and civil development associations, as it aims to organize the work of these crafts, whether they are handicrafts or plastic artists, to develop their capabilities and provide them with the professional, administrative and creative skills necessary to raise the quality of their products, as exhibitors presented various products in the field of crafts and handicrafts, drawing and decoration, perfumes and incense, sweets, coffee, spices and drinks, and women's fashion, clothing and accessories. The pavilion of the Culture and Arts Association in Dammam also presents artistic connections that reflect the artistic heritage of the Kingdom. Inside the exhibition halls, we met the artist Wedad Al Mubarak, who transformed her talent in plastic arts into the manufacture of moving dolls in order to enrich children's information by embodying different characters beloved by children in order to consolidate the idea and awareness in interactive activities, and present the popular and social heritage of the community. Regarding her participation in the exhibition, she praised the efforts made and that she considers participation a marketing opportunity for crafts, handicrafts and various products. The participation of Wijdan Al Dosari, who influenced the exhibition visitors by transforming her passion and hobby with her daughters into a different craft in tanning natural leather, recycling car and tank tires into home furniture, and creative artifacts that caught the attention of visitors through this craft and talent.     The Mexican visitor, Megan Salazar, expressed her admiration for the activities presented at the exhibition, which were related to the Saudi heritage, especially the Eastern heritage. He stated that he, his family, and his children enjoyed the creations he saw, stressing the preservation of Saudi culture. The Italian Vitali explained through her visit that the exhibition is a unique value that represents Saudi culture from heritage and the fragrance of extended history, and she considered it a touristic opportunity to learn about the authentic Saudi culture and the various creations of productive families, craftsmen, and various handicrafts.

The exhibition, organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Social Responsibility Center on the Dhahran Expo Company exhibition grounds, continues to receive visitors until Sunday, September 29, as it opens its doors from 4 pm to 10 pm, and exhibitors offer various products in the field of crafts, handicrafts, drawing and decoration, perfumes and incense, sweets, coffee, spices and drinks, fashion, clothing and women's accessories, and the pavilion of the Culture and Arts Association in Dammam offers artistic connections that reflect the artistic heritage of the Kingdom.

    In a talk about passion, challenge and determination, the artist Mohammed Al-Qahtani said that his passion and hobby in drawing and interest in wood and its types led him to learn the craft of drawing using burning on wood and leather, noting that the beginnings were not that easy, adding that his determination forced him to learn different skills and interact with other experiences from his participation in many exhibitions, and thus he was able to transform this passion into an additional source of income. He also confirmed that this type of art attracts those interested in it, as many visitors to his pavilion prefer to hear from him closely about the mechanism of work, art and the user, indicating that he masters other arts such as wood carving, plastic art on carpets, and engraving on glass. In another corner of the exhibition, artist Benin Saeed presented the art of macramé knots, which is considered one of the arts of knitting without the use of needles.

    All its stages are limited to manual knots made by hand and nothing else. Regarding this, artist Benin said that the art of knots is used in many household chores, in addition to its use in making fishing nets, noting that she has introduced it into the manufacture of hanging chairs and was able to make nets for hanging trees and bag bases, and many other products. Artist Benin explained that hobbies are many and there are many creative people, but the creative person and artist must have a message so that he can convey this hobby with its details to people who need such details to be able to make this art and creativity. Asharqia Chamber was keen to include this year's exhibition with different marketing pavilions prepared with an electronic marketing guide that includes a brief about the pavilion and means of communication with the pavilion owner to give him a long-term marketing opportunity and his connection with the consumer. The exhibition also included the participation of more than 300 pavilions, each pavilion includes a group of corners with similar specializations, in addition to pavilions for civil society organizations and development centers that embrace productive families and owners of crafts and handicrafts, and a special theatrical corner for the Culture and Arts Association through which hobbyists practice their hobbies in drawing, calligraphy, playing music and the violin, and live artistic performances.     Under the patronage and honor of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, the activities of the 2024 Handicrafts and Crafts Exhibition, organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Social Responsibility Center, were launched on Wednesday at the Dhahran Expo Exhibition Grounds, and will continue until Sunday, September 29, 2024.

     

    The exhibition, which includes more than 300 pavilions, aims to encourage the culture of entrepreneurship and motivate owners of handicrafts and crafts to take the path of self-employment, and strive to develop and advance them to gain the necessary professional, administrative and marketing skills, in addition to helping them with training and qualification to play their role in the country's development process.

     

    His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, honored the partners of the exhibition's success: Saudi Aramco, Social Development Bank as strategic partners, Dhahran Expo as main sponsor, Sulaiman Al Rajhi for Development Financing, Elite Company, and Al Salam Hospital as gold sponsor, and the General Authority for Radio and Television, Eastern Sector as TV sponsor.     Al-Raziza explained that the exhibition witnesses the participation of more than 300 exhibitors from craftsmen and handicrafts owners, government and private entities, and civil society organizations, as it aims to organize the work of these crafts, whether handicrafts or plastic artists, to develop their capabilities and provide them with the professional, administrative and creative skills necessary to raise the quality of their products by providing them with the opportunity to display and sell their products within the various exhibition pavilions and according to organized marketing channels that guarantee participants sustainable income and motivate them to entrepreneurship.

    Al-Raziza stressed that the crafts and handicrafts sector is considered a social and economic tributary, through its important role as one of the most important pillars of Saudi Vision 2030 to work on upgrading and developing it and transforming it into a more organized sector to be an added value in the national economy and contribute positively to the gross domestic product.

    Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Social Responsibility Center, continues its preparations to launch the 2024 Handicrafts and Crafts Exhibition, which is sponsored by the Deputy Prince of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, next Wednesday, September 25, and will continue until September 29, 2024, from 4 pm to 10 pm, at the Dhahran Expo Exhibitions. Board member Qusay bin Abdullah Al-Jashi explained that the homeland was and still is an impregnable fortress against the challenges that trouble the world around it, stressing the keenness of the wise leadership to protect the soil of this homeland and its people and to move forward towards developing its capabilities and characteristics while emphasizing the principles of unity and cohesion, noting that it is a memory that carries the values of sacrifice and perseverance that represent the compass of our directions today towards a brighter future. Board Member Majed bin Ibrahim Al-Jumaih said: "Today, we are walking on the path that was drawn by the founding king, may God Almighty have mercy on him, and that the kings of this great country have followed after him.     The Board member Nouf bin Abdulaziz Al Turki said that the National Day is a day of pride and honor for all of us, in light of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for the sake of this generous nation, pointing to the achievements made by Saudi women over the course of 94 years, saying that the rulers since the founder have emphasized the empowerment of women, believing in their effective role in driving the wheel of development and progress, referring to Vision 2030, which considered women to be one of the most important elements contributing to achieving its goal of development and prosperity.     During the workshop, which was held yesterday, Tuesday, September 17, Shaheen stressed the importance of choosing good, appropriate content in the digital marketing process, as it contributes greatly to increasing interaction and loyalty to the brand, and content is the primary means of communicating with the public and highlighting the brand identity. She explained to the attendees that digital marketing is the use of the Internet and digital technologies such as smartphones and social media to reach the target audience and promote products and services.

     

    The Specialist Shaheen indicated to the attendees that choosing the appropriate channels for digital marketing depends on knowing the appropriate audience, clearly defining goals, choosing the type of content well that suits the project in order to market it optimally, monitoring competitors and using appropriate research and monitoring tools, measuring performance continuously for effective evaluation and development, and understanding the organization's audience Optimally, it helps create positive interactive content.     ​Asharqia Chamber hosts Qatif Technical College in the monthly Tuesday meeting

    Asharqia Chamber, in its branch in Qatif Governorate, held the monthly Tuesday meeting for the business sector, which hosted the Dean of the Technical College in Qatif, Muhammad Al-Ansif, where the meeting witnessed a remarkable presence from the business sector, specialists and interested parties in the governorate.

    Al-Ansif spoke during the meeting, which was held on Tuesday evening, September 17, 2024, and was moderated by the Vice President of the Business Council in the branch, Dr. Rashid bin Farhan Al-Mahashir, about the aspirations of the college and its goals aimed at qualifying the sons of the nation in technical fields, noting that the vision of the college, which stems from the vision of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, emphasizes the effective contribution to economic, social and environmental development by providing technical and vocational training for the sons and daughters of the nation with the quality and sufficiency required by the labor market, and achieving global leadership that guarantees independence and self-sufficiency.

    Al-Ansif said that the college currently includes two departments, the first is the Business Technology Department, which includes the specializations of Office Business Technology and Accounting Technology, while the second is the Computer and Information Technology Department, which includes the specializations of Computer Technical Support Technology and Network Systems Management Technology.

    Al-Ansif announced that the college is working on opening new specializations that contribute to developing the skills of the members of the nation's sons, so that they become able to keep pace with the development and change taking place in the Kingdom within the goals of its 2030 vision. The specializations are Security and Risk Technology, and Occupational Safety.

    He also reviewed the strategic goals of the college, which are enhancing the quality of training and institutional quality, expanding technical and vocational training, attracting the best qualified trainers and leaders, providing technical and vocational training based on demand, providing programs and partnerships led by employers, in addition to providing a modern and safe training environment, providing comprehensive services to support trainees and enhance their participation, and enhancing the concept of technical and vocational training and attracting trainees.

     

    At the end of the meeting, the Vice President of the Business Council of the branch, Dr. Rashid bin Farhan Al-Mahashir, honored the guest of the meeting, Dean of the Technical College in Qatif, Muhammad Al-Ansif, with a commemorative shield.​
